The Vibe Liverpool CIC registered as a company in April 2015. We are a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company, which means that any money made goes straight back into the organisation.
We provide social and development opportunities to young people 16+ and adults with additional needs. We are a genuine grass roots organisation run by our members and guided by their parents/carers/support staff.
We are open 7 days a week with drop-in sessions running Monday-Sunday, in addition we have a disco running on a Tuesday evening and a weekly swim session on a Thursday evening.
Our strapline is ‘Keeping Busy, Keeping Safe’.
It all began with a conversation that Diane had with her daughter Jenny. Jenny has a moderate learning difficulty and lives in supported living with two other young women. They were discussing how there are some great services in Liverpool city region but they normally operate within the week and of a daytime and there was very little for Jenny and her friends to do of an evening or a weekend.
Jenny explained how she wanted to go out more but didn’t feel safe in town or visiting regular pubs and bars. Then, a member of her staff said ‘Why don’t you organise something yourselves’ and so the seed was sown!
The Vibe is a true community-orientated organisation that aims to improve the health and well-being of local adults and young people aged 16+ with additional needs. Every person has potential and we aim to identify each individuals’ talents, strengths and goals and help them achieve.
Our strapline is ‘Keeping busy, Keeping Safe’ and we will help our members do just that. We are open 7 days a week with a range of events, social activities and workshops available to stimulate and entertain our group.
Our door is open to anyone who has a disability or feels lonely and marginalised within their community. Everyone at The Vibe is included in decision making and participation.
We will network with other organisations and services such as sports centres, libraries, pubs etc to give all we can to our group.
To become a member all you need to do is to sign up with us and attend any of the sessions you like!
